Education Minister Takes Stock of Preparations for New School Year

Kénitra – Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Chakib Benmoussa visited on Thursday two schools in Kénitra, where he was briefed on preparations for the start of the 2023/2024 school year.

The visits took place against a backdrop of strong momentum in the education system, driven by the realization of projects under the Roadmap 2022/2026 for a quality public school for all, with the aim of improving pupils’ fundamental skills and reducing dropout rates.

The Minister visited the Najib Mahfoud high school in the commune of Mehdia, part of the Kénitra Provincial Directorate. Benmoussa was briefed on the preparations and measures taken to ensure a successful start to the 2023/2024 school year, as well as pedagogical data and indicators for the region and the school.

Benmoussa told the press that nationwide, some 630 schools are pioneer establishments, twenty-seven of which are located in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region and are equipped with teaching resources to support pupils in difficulty, noting that the emphasis in recent months has been on providing books and teaching materials, as well as teacher training.
