Morocco to Participate in 13th Alexandria Theater Festival on Sept. 22-28

Cairo – The Alexandria Theater Festival has announced the participants for its 13th edition (September 22-28), which includes a play from Morocco.

The Festival revealed on its Facebook page that “Brenda” by Ahmed Amine Sahel is among the chosen 10 Arab and international plays for this edition.

The play is based on an American rap song with the same title and tackles the challenges women face in American society. The director tried to show how Arab women, especially Moroccan women, live through this situation.

The festival features performances from Spain, Iraq, Tunisia, Palestine, the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Alexandria International Theatre Festival started in 2008 as “Theatre without Production” with a goal to showcase affordable performances that rely heavily on acting.
