Eid Al Adha to be Celebrated on June 29 in Morocco (Ministry)

Rabat – The 1st Dhu al-Hijja of the year 1444 of the Hegira will correspond to Tuesday June 20, 2023 and Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on Thursday June 29, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry said it had observed the lunar crescent announcing the start of the month of Dhu al-Hijja after the Al Maghrib prayer on Sunday 29 Dhu al-Qa’dah 1444 H, corresponding to June 18, 2023, adding that “all the ministry’s delegates in the Kingdom and the Royal Armed Forces units involved in the observation confirmed that the lunar crescent was not observed”.

Therefore, the month of Dhu al-Qa’dah 1444 H will have counted 30 days, the month of Dhu al-Hijja will begin on Tuesday June 20, 2023, and Eid Al Adha will consequently be celebrated on Thursday Dhu al-Hijja 10, 1444 corresponding to June 29, 2023, the same source noted.
