WB-IMF Annual Meetings Provides Opportunity to Share Morocco’s Values with World – Economy Minister

Marrakech – The annual meetings of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to be held next October in Marrakech, will provide an opportunity to share Morocco’s values with the world, Economy and Finance Minister Nadia Fettah stressed on Tuesday.

“At this high-profile international meeting, Morocco will have a unique opportunity to share with the world the major achievements it has made and the economic reforms it has undertaken,” said Fettah during a meeting between IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom as part of preparations for the WB-IMF Annual Meetings, and Moroccan and foreign students at Cadi Ayyad University (UCA) in Marrakech.

The Minister added that the New Development Model (NMD) represents one of the Kingdom’s great achievements, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, noting that this roadmap is aimed primarily at students and rising generations.

Through the New Development Model, Morocco confirms that it has a vision for the future and a long-term action plan,” explained the Minister, calling on young people to participate massively in the WB-IMF annual meetings, and to exemplify the culture of hospitality that characterizes the Moroccan people, and of optimism for a better future.
