Morocco-EU Agricultural Agreement: Tarascon Court Ruling Strengthens Economic Development of Southern Provinces (Professional Chamber)

Laayoune – The ruling handed down by the Tarascon Court in France condemning the Paysanne Confederation, a French trade union organization used in the judicial harassment of the agricultural agreement between Morocco and the European Union (EU), reinforces the economic boom experienced by the southern provinces, stressed Ahmed Hmaimid, president of the Laayoune-Sakia Al Hamra Chamber of Agriculture, on Tuesday in Laayoune.

This ruling, which constitutes a new judicial setback for the “polisario” and its proxies in France, reinforces the dynamic of development in Morocco’s southern provinces, thanks to the Wise Vision of HM King Mohammed VI, who has turned them into a veritable economic hub, stressed Hmaimid in a statement to MAP in reaction to the ruling.

This ruling confirms the soundness of the Sovereign’s enlightened policy in terms of regional development, noting that this ruling, which benefits the local population, opens up great prospects for the economy, particularly in terms of agricultural exports.

The southern provinces live in a climate of security, peace and prosperity, he said, noting that the ruling was the umpteenth disavowal of the “polisario’s” attempts to annul the fisheries and agricultural agreements concluded between Morocco and the EU.
