Delegation from Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema Meets Cape Verde’s Health Minister in Praia

Praia (Cape Verde) – A delegation from the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, led by its Secretary General, Mohamed Rifki, held talks in Praia on Wednesday with the Cape Verdean Health Minister Filomena Gonçalves, as part of a visit to the archipelago.

During the meeting, the Secretary General of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema voiced the institution’s readiness to make its expertise in religious supervision and training available to the Cape Verdean government, as part of its management of religious fields, with a view to strengthening social peace and dialogue between religious leaders of all faiths.

For her part, Filomena Gonçalves, also in charge of Religious Affairs, expressed her gratitude and thanks to the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema for the efforts made under the effective High Vision of its President, His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

She also expressed the interest of the Cape Verdean government in consolidating cooperation in the fields of worship and religion, in order to promote the eternal message of religions, which is based on living together, openness to others and dialogue.

On Tuesday, the Secretary General of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulemas led a conference organized by the High Authority for Immigration at the Cape Verdean Ministry of Foreign Affairs on “Religion and immigration: the relationship between religious practices and the integration of immigrants”, with a theme on “The Kingdom of Morocco and the promotion of living together on African soil”.

During their stay, the delegation led by the Foundation’s Secretary General, Mohamed Rifki, accompanied by the Foundation’s mission experts, Othmane Sqalli Houssaini and Mohamed El Gourari, held talks on Tuesday with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Cape Verde, Austelino Tavares Correia, during which the Cape Verdean official praised His Majesty King Mohammed VI for His far-sighted vision in terms of promoting peace, coexistence and social cohesion.

The delegation was also received by Christian, Nazarene, Adventist, Evangelical and Muslim religious leaders, including the President of the Nazarene Solidarity League, the Executive Secretary of the Adventist Church, and the President of the Islamic Association of Cape Verde.
