Signed by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, the CEO of Sothema, Lamia Tazi, Dassault Systèmes (AMERICAS CORP,) represented by Jean-Philippe Laguerre, the Baylor College of medicine (USA, Texas) represented by Sharmila Anandasabapathy and Regenlab (Switzerland, United States) represented by Antonino Turzi, this partnership takes place pursuant to the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI regarding support for the generalization of social protection and universal health coverage.
This unique memorandum will give rise to the first Africa-wide ecosystem specialized in development Pharmaceutics and clinical trials using new technologies and artificial intelligence to accelerate the innovation and development of drugs, including anti-cancer medicines.
Under this MoU, the parties are committed to strengthening Morocco’s achievements in public health preparedness and response to epidemics and other health issues, providing enabling technologies for the digitization of drug development and clinical trials in Morocco, designing, implementing and supporting the management of hospitals and healthcare systems, advising on best practice in international standards for cancer care and clinical trials, and developing and manufacturing medical devices for several fields.
