In his opening address, the Minister highlighted the efforts undertaken by ALEM to develop and facilitate access to housing for members of the Royal Armed Forces and civilian personnel of the National Defense Administration, and emphasized the need to continue the support actions of the various ministerial departments and public institutions that are members of the Board of Directors to back the Agency’s programs in execution of the High Royal Instructions, the National Defense Administration said in a statement.
On this occasion, the members of the Board expressed their satisfaction at the large number of investment projects undertaken between 2007 and 2022, thanks to the High Solicitude granted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to members of the Royal Armed Forces to improve their socio-economic conditions and enable them to get access to decent housing.
With regard to the Agency’s activity report to the end of 2022, the members of the Board expressed their satisfaction with the actions undertaken by ALEM to carry out housing projects aimed at both corporate rental housing and home ownership. A total of 15,700 units have been built under the rental staff-housing program, of which 98% have been completed.
As for the home ownership program, by the end of 2022, 75,500 servicemen and women had purchased housing from ALEM, its subsidiaries, its real estate developer partners or other real estate developers, 39,500 of whom benefited from financial assistance from the State.
In addition, ALEM has relocated a number of military installations, which has led to freeing up a significant amount of land, providing important opportunities for urban development projects in several cities across the Kingdom.
In addition, and as part of the High Royal Solicitude with which HM the King surrounds the members of the FAR, His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the FAR, has given His High Instructions for the realization, through ALEM, of a nationwide operation to grant free plots of land from the Agency to a fringe group of members of the Hassan II Foundation for OSAMAC, who also benefit from exemption from registration and land registration fees.
As part of its three-year action plan for 2023-2025, the Agency plans to carry out an investment program worth a total of 3.8 billion dirhams, financed by State aid (1.5 billion dirhams) and internal resources (2.3 billion dirhams). This program will make it possible to continue granting front-end assistance to 6,000 beneficiaries a year, to carry out the “Chouhada” operation, and to speed up the treatment of the old disposable housing stock and non-regulation housing on ALEM land.
At the end of the meeting, a letter of allegiance and loyalty was addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify Him, on the occasion of the ALEM Board of Directors meeting.
