Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, hailed the achievements of the UN organization under the leadership of Dongyu, who “has committed himself to serving the most needy in the worst situations that humanity has faced in recent years”, stressing the full support of Morocco, “fully available for fruitful collaboration”.
According to Sadiki, who took part in the elections, in the presence of the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN organizations in Rome, Youssef Balla, “since the start of his mandate in 2019, FAO DG has brought about structural changes that have enabled the organization to become more dynamic, transparent and inclusive, in the wake of a new strategic vision”.
The Minister also highlighted FAO’s new strategies on climate change and science and innovation, part of a series of flagship initiatives that have effectively helped members meet long-standing challenges, expressing his wishes for a prosperous future to all members of the UN organization.
