Graduation Ceremony for New Officer Classes at Royal Military Academy of Meknes

Rabat – On the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Major General Inspector General of FAR and Commander of the South Zone, chaired, on Friday, the graduation ceremony of the 97th class of the Normal Officer Cycle and the 16th class of the Special Cycle at the Royal Military Academy (ARM) in Meknes.

On this occasion, the Major General, Director of ARM, presented the annual report on the ARM’s activities, before proclaiming the results obtained by the cadets, according to a statement by FAR General Staff.

Afterwards, FAR Inspector General awarded prizes to the best national and foreign students of the various classes, and the Diploma of University and Military Studies (DEUM) to the graduating class. He also attended the traditional ceremony of handing over the torches and flag of ARM to the third-year class, noted the statement.

In accordance with the Royal High Directives, this year saw the graduation of the first class of female officers from ARM. These graduates completed their four-year training with the 97th promotion, and will now serve in the various Arms and Services of FAR on the same footing as their male counterparts, said the same source.

The 97th class of ARM officer cadets includes several foreign trainees from Burkina-Faso, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
