Budget Deficit Expected to Drop to 4% in 2024 – Lekjaa

Rabat – Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, said on Friday in Rabat that the budget deficit is expected to fall to 4% in 2024, 3.5% in 2025 and 3% in 2026, according to the three-year budget program (PBT) for this period.

Presenting the general framework of the 2024 budget law at a joint meeting of the Finance Committees of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, Lekjaa stressed that controlling the level of the deficit in line with the trajectory targeted in the PBT to preserve debt sustainability requires the continuation of reforms and the implementation of measures aimed at mobilizing additional margins on both the revenue and expenditure sides.
