In a press release issued on Tuesday, the committee said that “the PI has followed with great interest the latest development in the Israeli position vis-à-vis the question of our territorial integrity, expressed through the Israeli Prime Minister’s announcement of the State of Israel’s decision to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over its Saharan territory, with all the ensuing measures to be taken by the Israeli government at the level of the United Nations, regional and international organizations and internally, with the aim of giving this decision its diplomatic, political and administrative weight.”
The committee highly commended “the important role played by Moroccan diplomacy, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, in defending our territorial integrity, as well as the Kingdom’s positive achievements in this field.”
The United States’ decision to recognize the Sahara’s Moroccanness has had a very positive impact on the international community, while giving new impetus to the question of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, the same source added.
This American position has prompted several countries to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, as well as to welcome the autonomy plan for the southern provinces under Moroccan sovereignty, says the PI, noting that “this illustrates the high esteem and great confidence our country enjoys within the international community, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.”
After highlighting Israel’s decision to open a consulate in the town of Dakhla, the PI’s executive committee hailed the great achievements made thanks to the development model implemented in the southern provinces, as well as its positive spin-offs in the areas of improving living conditions for the population, employment, basic social services and the investment environment.
The PI Executive Committee highlighted the significant efforts made by HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, to preserve the legal, religious and historical status of this holy city and its holy sites, as well as to support the Maqdessis and improve their conditions, thanks to the various initiatives undertaken by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency.
This body also reiterated the PI’s support for the militancy of the brotherly Palestinian people on the path to the realization of their just and legitimate aspirations and the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state with East Al Quds as its capital, calling for the multiplication of efforts, the consecration of the two-state solution and the promotion of peace, security and stability in the region.
