Boxing: Morocco Takes Part in African Championships in Cameroon

Casablanca – The national boxing team is taking part in the 21st edition of the African championships, organized from July 26 to August 05 in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon.

According to a statement by the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation, the Moroccan delegation includes 18 pugilists (10 men and 8 women), including Hamza El Barbari, African champion during the previous edition in Maputo (Mozambique) in 2022, who will defend his title in the 71 kg category in Yaoundé.

Besides El Barbari, Morocco will be represented in the men’s category by Hamza Essaadi (48 kg), Said Mortaji (51 kg), Imad Azoui (54 kg), Soulaimane Samghouli (57 kg), Mohamed Hamout (60 kg), Abdelhaq Nadir (63.5 kg), Moussa Gholam (67 kg), Mohamed Rabii (75 kg), and Mohamed Seghir (86 kg).

On the women’s side, the national colors will be defended by Yassmine Mouttaki (48 kg), Rabab Cheddar (50 kg), Widad Bertal (54 kg), Nouhaila Halioui (57 kg), Nisrine Amine (60 kg), Oumaima Belahbib (66 kg), Saida Lahmidi (75 kg) and Khadija Mardi (81 kg).
