Kenitra: Five Arrested for Allegedly Trafficking Drugs, Psychotropics

Kenitra – Kenitra’s criminal investigation department on Wednesday arrested five individuals for their alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropics.

The 19- to 42-year-old suspects, including two women, were arrested in Mehdia with the collaboration of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), said a security source.

The police, thanks to searches carried out in a house occupied by one of the suspects in Sidi Taibi, seized 5,400 psychotropic tablets, in addition to cocaine, 800 grams of cannabis resin (chira) and an electronic scale.

The security source further revealed that one of suspects was the subject of a national wanted notice for his alleged involvement in a similar drug trafficking case, as his identity was checked against the Sûreté Nationale‘s database.

The suspects have been taken into police custody as a judicial investigation continues to determine the details of this case and all the criminal acts of which they are accused.
