Casablanca: Police Seize over 11K Units of Firecrackers, Arrest Four

Casablanca – Policemen in Casablanca seized, on Wednesday, a total of 11,158 units of firecrackers and fireworks, and arrested four individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of these contraband products.

The suspects were arrested during various security operations, a security source said, specifying that one of them was caught in flagrante delicto possessing and trafficking firecrackers in Tit Mellil, on the outskirts of Casablanca, where 9,658 units were seized.

At the same time, policemen in Anfa arrested three individuals in downtown Casablanca in possession of 1,500 additional units of smuggled firecrackers and fireworks.

The suspects are under judicial investigation, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the origin of these smuggled products and the possible repercussions of this affair.

These operations are part of the Sûreté Nationale‘s efforts to combat the trafficking of explosives, the use of which poses a serious threat to the safety of people and property.
