HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, firmly reiterated Morocco’s attachment to its territorial integrity, while emphasizing the growing international support for Morocco in this regard, Rafik Chihab told MAP.
Rafik Chihab, who is also a professor of law at Al Quds, noted that the Sovereign had demonstrated clarity and frankness, by affirming the justness of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate right of the Palestinians to the establishment of their independent state with Eastern Al Quds as its capital.
This position is in total harmony with the efforts made by Moroccan diplomacy to defend the Palestinian cause, notably at UN level, as well as with the two-state solution as the only way to put an end to this conflict and establish a just and lasting peace in the region, he added.
The Palestinian academician also recalled the initiatives undertaken by the Bayt Mal Al Qods Agency to preserve the cultural, civilizational and religious identity of the city of Al Qods, as well as to support the Maqdessis and provide for their needs.
In the same vein, he referred to the Agency’s efforts in the fields of education, health and culture in Al Quds, with their positive impact on the lives of the Maqdessis.
Support for the Palestinian question has always been a priority of the Kingdom’s diplomatic action, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, both politically and in international forums, and on the ground, through direct social and economic support for the Palestinians, he concluded.
