Women’s World Cup 2023 : ‘We’ll Do Everything to Qualify for the Quarter-finals’ (Coach)

Hindmarsh – The Moroccan women’s football team will be doing everything in their power to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Cup at the expense of France, said Reynald Pedros, coach of the Atlas Lionesses, on Monday.

“We’re going to keep the same state of mind we showed against South Korea and against Colombia,” Pedros assured at the pre-match press conference, adding that the players are making sure they are “very compact, very aggressive, very attentive and very effective”.

“We’re going to take it up a notch, particularly on both the defensive and offensive surfaces, to be more decisive”, he emphasized, adding that the squad is complete, has trained very well and is ready to give Les Bleues a run for their money.

“Solidarity, determination, desire… All these ingredients will be further enhanced in this game to ensure qualification for the quarter-finals,” said the French coach.

In the Round of 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the Moroccan team will face their French counterparts on Tuesday at 12pm (GMT+1) at Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide (Australia), with their sights set on a new historic feat to add to the many achievements of national football in recent years.

The first Arab team to take part in a Women’s World Cup, Morocco finished the group phase in second place in Group H with 6 points, after a loss to Germany and two wins over South Korea and Colombia.
