“It’s unimaginable. It’s more than fantastic. It was only three years ago that we started building this team. I’m proud to have reached the last 16 with this team,” said Pedros at a press conference after the match, which ended with Morocco losing to France in the Round of 16.
“The French team displayed a high level of competitiveness while we struggled to be efficient. Our aggression was lacking, and mistakes were made, especially during the first half,” he said.
“I extend my congratulations to all the players and staff. Now, it’s crucial to refocus and resume our efforts. We have significant upcoming sporting events to prepare for, notably the impending Olympic Games,” he noted.
“Looking ahead, we need to continue our work on improving the defensive aspect of our game, as well as refining our tactics and enhancing our physical performance,” the French coach concluded.
Morocco, the first Arab nation to take part in the Women’s World Cup and reach the 2nd round, earned respect at this global event, after holding their own against teams with a proven track record.
