The Moroccan films in the running are Yasmine Benkirane’s “Queens” and Omar Mouldouira’s “A Summer in Boujad”, competing for the Black Iris Award in the narrative feature category, and Othmane Saadouni’s “Broken Mirrors” and Adnane Baraka’s “Fragments From Heaven” (documentary features).
The program also includes a series of films selected for the Grand Prize for Best Short Film, an international competition (Audience Award), the “Spotlight on Jordanian Shorts” and “Franco-Arab Rendezvous” sections, as well as master classes, seminars and panel discussions with the films’ directors and film professionals.
The jury for the narrative feature category includes Spanish producer Andres Vicente Gomez, Jordanian actor Eyad Nassar and Egyptian artist Bushra Rozza, while the documentary feature jury includes German-Lebanese producer and director Monika Borgmann, Jordanian editor Eyad Hamam and Lebanese filmmaker Nezar Andary.
