Morocco: 133,000 Jobs Created in Q2-2022 (HCP)

‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌​ ​ ‌​ ​ Casablanca – The national economy created 133,000 jobs in the second quarter of 2022 (Q2-2022), which corresponds to an increase of 1%, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

“The national economy has created 133,000 jobs in the second quarter of 2022, which corresponds to an increase of 1%, resulting from a creation of 285,000 jobs in urban areas (+5%) and a loss of 152,000 in rural areas (-3%),” said the HCP, which has published a briefing note on the situation of the labor market in Q2-2022.

By type of employment, 299,000 paid jobs were created, resulting in a creation of 307,000 in urban areas and a loss of 8,000 in rural zones, said the same source, adding that unpaid employment has declined by 166,000 positions, i.e. a loss of 144,000 in rural areas and 22,000 in urban zones.
