According to the initial investigation, the suspect, with multiple criminal records in cases of theft and who was under the influence of alcohol, took advantage of the non-closure of the outer door of the apartment of the victim, a Spanish national of 90 years, established in Morocco, to infiltrate her home, said a statement by the national police (DGSN).
The suspect physically assaulted the victim, causing her death, before taking a TV, kitchen equipment and clothing, the same source added.
The investigations conducted by the police and the DGST allowed the arrest of the suspect in a short time after his crime, the source said, adding that the searches have resulted in the seizure and return of stolen objects.
The suspect was placed in custody to complete the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office to clarify the ins and outs of this crime, concluded the statement.
