Organization of Jewish Community: Moroccan Jewish Association of Mexico Expresses Gratitude to HM the King

‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Mexico City – The Moroccan Jewish Association of Mexico has expressed its “gratitude” and “thanks” to HM King Mohammed VI, following the establishment of a new organization for the Jewish communities that will ensure efficient and harmonious management of communities throughout the national territory.

In a statement to MAP, the Association said it “received with great joy and emotion” the announcement of the measures taken during the last Council of Ministers chaired by HM the King on the creation of three organizations that care for the heritage of the culture and traditions of the Jewish communities of Morocco.

The mechanism submitted to the High Appreciation of His Majesty the King, developed after extensive consultations with representatives of the Jewish community and personalities belonging to it, includes three bodies, namely the National Council of the Moroccan Jewish Community, the Commission of Moroccan Jews Abroad and the Foundation of Moroccan Judaism.

HM the King’s decision confirms, once again, the Sovereign’s “commitment” to Jewish communities around the world,” the statement said.

“Morocco (…) is an example for other countries to follow as it contributes to fostering a framework for reunion and coexistence,” according to the Moroccan Jewish Association of Mexico.

“Many generations of members of our communities came from Morocco many years ago and still have very close ties with the culture of coexistence, which is essential to our values,” the statement concluded.
