Tanzania: Exhibition of Holy Quran Manuscripts in Dar Es Salam, Illustration of Royal High Solicitude Towards Holy Book (Official)

‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Dar Es Salam – The exhibition of the Holy Quran manuscripts in Dar Es Salam in Tanzania illustrates the high concern of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, for the Holy Book, the memorizers, the reciters, the Ulema and Islam in Africa, said Thursday secretary general of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, Mohamed Rifki.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Rifki noted that the event aims to highlight the efforts made for centuries by the Kingdom, noting that the Sultans of Morocco, alongside the Chorfas and Moroccan Ulema, have constantly affirmed their commitment to the preservation of the Holy Quran and its dissemination in Africa.

The exhibition organized as part of the 3rd edition of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema competition of memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran (August 11-14), under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, summarizes a process of more than 12 centuries of Moroccan experience in the preservation of the Holy Book and its dissemination across Africa, he said, noting that this unique experience is able to contribute to the consolidation of strong spiritual ties between Morocco and Tanzania.

In parallel to this exhibition, several workshops of calligraphy will be organized by eminent Moroccan calligraphers for the benefit of participants in the competition, as well as the entire public, added Rifki.

For his part, deputy speaker of the Tanzanian Parliament Moussa Hassan Zounkou praised the efforts made by HM the King for the benefit of Africa in all areas, and particularly in terms of dissemination of Islam across the continent, expressing his thanks to the Sovereign for the choice of Tanzania as the third country to host this contest.
