Jerada: Three People Die from Carbon Dioxide Poisoning in Coal Mining Well – Local Authorities

Jerada – Three people died of carbon dioxide poisoning on Tuesday in a coal extraction well operated by a legal cooperative in a forest area located in the commune of Laâouinate, Jerada province, local authorities said.

Once notified of the incident, the local authorities, the Gendarmerie Royale and the civil protection services rushed to the scene to rescue the three people trapped (aged 52, 44 and 43) but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The bodies of the three victims who perished inside the well have been recovered.

An investigation into the tragedy was launched by the relevant authorities under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office, according to the same source.
