Through these operations, which were conducted simultaneously in several areas of Nador in collaboration with the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), said a statement from National Police (DGSN).
Policemen arrested the first suspect in El Aroui and the other ones in Douar Oulad Amghar, in the region of Temsamane, and seized 77 bundles of cannabis resin locally called ‘chira’ with a total weight of 2.75 tonnes.
The police have also seized four outboard motors, navigation equipment, and series of jerry cans filled with benzine, in addition to two motorcycles, a light car and a sum of money in both national and foreign currencies, the same source specified.
The last part of this intervention resulted in the seizure of a boat at the Thalla Youssef fishing port near Al Hoceima, suspected of having been used in operations of international drug trafficking by sea, adds the statement.
The suspects were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office to identify all accomplices involved in this criminal activity, specify the routes taken and determine the possible local and international ramifications, concludes the same source.
