Former BCIJ Director Abdelhak El Khiame Dies at 64

Rabat – The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) and the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) lamented Tuesday the death of the former director of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), Abdelhak El Khiame, who died Tuesday at dawn in Casablanca at the age of 64.

Born in Casablanca, the deceased had led the BCIJ at its inception in 2015 until 2020, when he passed the baton to Habboub Cherkaoui.

Previously, El Khiame had a brilliant career in the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ), whose reins he took in 2004.

The deceased became an emblematic figure in the fight against terrorism in the Kingdom and a key player in Morocco’s security cooperation with its foreign allies, especially European countries.
