‘Le Bleu du Caftan’ Wins 2 Awards at Angoulême Francophone Film Festival

Paris – “Le Bleu du Caftan” by Moroccan director Maryam Touzani, won two awards at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival (France), held on August 23-28.

The feature film won the best director award and the best actor award for Saleh Bakri.

In May, the International Federation of Film Critics (Fipresci) awarded the feature film ‘the prize for the best film in the “Un Certain Regard” selection.

Produced by Nabil Ayouch and Amine Benjelloun, the feature film relates the story of Halim and Mina, a couple who run a Caftan store in the Medina of Salé, joined by Youssef, a young apprentice who shares with his Maalem Halim the same sincere passion for sewing.

The film features Lubna Azabal, Saleh Bakri, Ayoub Missioui, Mounia Lamkimel, Hamid Zoughi and many other Moroccan actors.
