On Friday, the joint customs and police brigade operating at the Bab Sebta crossing point arrested two young girls of German nationality in possession of 42 kg of chira in the form of tablets, said a customs source, adding that the drugs were concealed inside cavities near the engine of a car registered in Germany.
In the early hours of Saturday, customs services and police operating in Bab Sebta foiled an attempt to smuggle 137 kg of chira on board a vehicle registered in Spain.
The elements of the joint brigade thoroughly inspected a vehicle, driven by a Spanish national of Moroccan origin, which led to the discovery of the drugs that were concealed inside specially designed cavities in the dashboard, under the seats and on the two sides of the car.
All the suspects arrested during the two operations were handed over to the judicial police of Tetouan for further investigation, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor.
