Morocco’s Artist Fathallah Lamghari Dies at 82

Rabat – Moroccan artist and singer Fathallah Lamghari died Saturday evening at the age of 82 years in a hospital in Rabat following an illness, his family said.

The late Fathallah Lamghari has profoundly impacted the history of Moroccan music through a rich repertoire that was covered by several artists. “Allah Ala Raha,” “Faynek Al Hbib,” “Wallah manta maana” are among many other masterpieces of the artist.

Lamar, who was also a great lyricist, wrote the lyrics of some very successful songs. He is behind the success of songs like “Maghiyara,” “Kass El Bellar” and “Mouhal Ynessak Elbal,” in addition to the patriotic song “Nidaa Al Hassan” that he wrote on the occasion of the Green March.
