National Economy Openness, Actions Taken over Years Allowed to Settle New Industrial Fabric, Official

Rabat – The openness of the national economy and the various actions taken by the Kingdom over the years allowed to settle a new industrial fabric, Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour said Wednesday in Rabat.

The openness of the Moroccan economy, and the various actions taken by the Kingdom over the years allowed to settle a new “more resilient more productive, and more competitive” industrial fabric, said Mezzour during the “Carrefour Diplomatique” meeting with foreign Ambassadors accredited to Morocco.

The minister reviewed the efforts made by Morocco in recent years to develop infrastructure that encourages investment in strategic sectors.

Pointing to the development of export units with “good competitiveness,” the minister cited as an example, the port of Tangier Med which is now “the first African port for the past five years and the first Mediterranean port for the past two years.

Morocco has invested heavily in the development of its infrastructure, which has helped attract domestic and international investors, Mezzour added.

Regarding food security, the minister noted that this issue requires a set of measures related to production capacity and storage, as well as contracts with “reliable partners.”

He also stressed the importance of this diplomatic meeting which highlights the significant changes that have occurred in the Moroccan industrial fabric and informs on developments in the national industrial policy.

This meeting is also an opportunity to explain the direction of the Kingdom in terms of economic partnership and the expectations of the Kingdom vis-à-vis investment and various partnerships, said the Minister.

Organized at the initiative of the Diplomatic Foundation, the 114th session of the “Carrefour Diplomatique” took place with the participation of around 40 Ambassadors.
