Diamond League/Zurich: Soufiane El Bakkali Wins 3.000 m Steeplechase

Casablanca – Moroccan athlete Soufiane El Bakkali won, Thursday, with a time of 8:07.67 the 3,000 m steeplechase event at the Zurich meeting (Switzerland) of the Diamond League.

The Olympic and world champion beat Ethiopian Getnet Wale (8:08.56) and Kenyan Abraham Kibiwot (8:08.61).

The gold medalist at the Olympic Games-2020 in Tokyo won the 3,000m steeplechase on August 26 at the Lausane meeting (Switzerland), which is also part of the Diamond League.

The Zurich meeting is the last of the 14 Diamond League meetings that started last May in Doha (Qatar).
