Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency: Agreements to Sponsor 10 Schools in Holy City

Al-Quds – Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency signed, Sunday in the Holy City, agreements to sponsor ten schools within the framework of the Agency’s project “Environment Clubs”.

These agreements, worth $ 400,000 and will be implemented from the fiscal year 2023, were signed in the presence of the Director in charge of management of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui and the Director of Education and Teaching in the Holy City, Samir Jibril.

The agreements cover some maintenance works, landscaping of the courtyards, afforestation and improvement of the quality of the facilities (grounds, recreational areas and laboratories).

They will be implemented in two phases. The first phase concerns five schools, namely Hassan II School, Salah Eddine School, Al Massira School, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab School and Al-Nahda Al-Islamiya School.

As for the second, it includes five other schools, including “Al-Fatat Chamiya”, “Diaa Al-Qods”, “Shabat muslimat” and “Al Jayl Al Jadid”.

On this occasion, a visit to the Hassan II school was made, where a commemorative plaque in memory of His Majesty King Hassan II was installed, at the initiative of the Directorate of Education and Teaching of Al-Quds.

This gesture is also a sign of appreciation for the initiatives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee and the Sovereign’s constant monitoring of the projects and programs of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency.

Located in the heart of the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, next to the old city and close to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Hassan II school is attended by 200 students, boys and girls, divided into grades from fifth to ninth, and taught in 12 classrooms built entirely by the Agency, in addition to a section for computer science and another for the science laboratory.

In a speech delivered on this occasion, Cherkaoui said that the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency will continue, in accordance with the instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to fulfill its duty to support the Holy City and its various institutions, including those in the education sector, stressing that the Agency will also continue to play its role in preserving the identity of Al-Quds and support the resistance of the Holy city’s inhabitants.

For his part, the Director of Education and Teaching in Al-Quds, Samir Jibril, expressed his heartfelt thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency for its continued support to education in the city of Al-Quds, highlighting the honorable positions of the Agency and its support to schools in difficult times.

He also underlined that the Agency was able to buy many schools in Al-Quds and build the Hassan II school, stressing that “we will not forget the positions of the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco in supporting the education sector in Al-Quds”.

Alaa Abu Shkheidem, Director of Hassan II School, praised the accompaniment of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency of Al-Quds schools and its support, as well as the construction of Hassan II School, which is a source of knowledge in Al-Quds in light of the problems and obstacles faced by schools due to the practices of the occupation.

At the end of this visit, school bags were distributed to the students of the school, on the occasion of the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
