Morocco, Mexico to Develop Cooperation in Agriculture

Mexico City – Strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture was the focus of talks held Monday in Mexico City between Morocco’s ambassador to Mexico, Abdelfattah Lebbar, and Mexico’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Víctor Villalobos Arámbula.

The talks focused on agriculture, rural development, fertilizer production and investment opportunities offered to economic stakeholders in the field of agriculture, to consolidate and diversify trade between the two countries.

The Mexican minister stressed the readiness of his country to exchange experiences and expertise with the Kingdom in the agricultural sector, including through the Green Morocco Plan.

He also highlighted the potential of the Kingdom in the sectors with high economic attractiveness and its position as a destination for Mexican investment in the MENA region. He also noted Morocco’s achievements in recent years in the areas of agriculture and rural development.

For his part, the ambassador of Morocco stressed the willingness of the Kingdom to work with Mexico to strengthen and diversify bilateral cooperation in agriculture and rural development, through training sessions and exchange of expertise to develop trade between the two countries.

The diplomat also highlighted the investment opportunities offered by Morocco to Mexican investors, the potential of the Moroccan agriculture sector and the importance of various plans launched to promote it.
