Industry Minister Says Morocco Has Become Africa’s Leader in Automotive Sector

Kenitra – Morocco has become today Africa’s leader in the automotive sector, thanks to advanced technologies but also to highly skilled Moroccans, said Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour on Wednesday in Kenitra.

The Kingdom has indeed a national automotive industry that is accompanying the transformation of the sector but also take an extremely important position internationally, said the Minister told MAP, on the sidelines of a visit to the factory Castool 90.

Morocco is ready to face the future in a serene and early and develop this ecosystem in the new framework of sustainable mobility, said the minister who made this visit as part of efforts to strengthen the added value of the automotive sector, the largest export sector of the national economy.

He added that this plant, which manufactures parts and molds for one of the most innovative manufacturers in the world is a concrete example of progress in this area and “what to be proud.

A subsidiary of the Canadian group Exco Technologies, Castool 90, which required an investment of 50 million dirhams, operates in the sector of aluminum extrusion and die casting industries.
