Ramallah – The 12th International Book Fair of Palestine kicked off on Wednesday in Ramallah, with the participation of publishing houses from Arab and foreign countries, including Morocco.

The Kingdom is represented at this cultural event, which continues until September 24, by the Director of Books, Libraries and Archives at the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, Latifa Moftaqir, the head of the department of exhibitions at the Ministry, Abderrazak Seddik, and a publisher and distributor of the bookstore “Dar Al Aman”.

The Moroccan participation in this fair, whose opening ceremony was attended by the Moroccan ambassador to Palestine, Abderrahim Meziane, is part of exchanges and cooperation between the International Book Fair in Morocco and the International Book Fair of Palestine.

Speaking on the occasion, the Palestinian Minister of Culture, Atef Abu Saif, said that the exhibition is a cultural window that opens from Palestine to the world, “through which we promote the Palestinian culture and book and also bring the Arab and international books and cultures to Palestine.”

Reporting a large Arab participation in this event, he stressed that this is the largest cultural event since the second “Intifada”, where Arab intellectuals, writers and publishers meet with their Palestinian counterparts.

The Palestine International Book Fair hosts 350 publishing houses, agencies and institutions from Palestine, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Canada and Italy.
