In an interview with the Qatari News Agency (QNA), on the sidelines of his visit to that country, the Egyptian president stressed the importance of restoring a number of principles and concepts in the Arab region, including adherence to the concept of the nation-state and the preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
He called against dealing, in any way, with “terrorist organizations and armed militias” and instead supporting national armies and military institutions.
President Al-Sissi said that the upcoming Arab summit will be held at a delicate time for the Arab nation, which, he said, is experiencing many crises and tensions, in addition to the spread of the terrorist threat.
In this context, he stressed the importance of strengthening the authority of central institutions in order “not to leave any space or vacuum to centrifugal forces that can alter the capabilities of Arab countries and their peoples and block the road to all foreign interventions.
He also emphasized the imperative adherence to the principle of citizenship as a fundamental element in maintaining social peace, noting that these are “general principles around which all problems of the Arab region revolve.
