UNGA: Head of Government Meets with Dutch Counterpart

United Nations (New York) – Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch met, on Friday at the UN headquarters in New York, with his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte.

The relationship between Morocco and the Netherlands is “very strong,” said Rutte in a statement to the press after the meeting, adding that the discussions focused on several issues of common interest.

Morocco plays “a leading role” in the region, especially regarding the situation in the Sahel and Libya, said the Dutch Prime Minister.

This meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations, Omar Hilale.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly.
