Morocco Praises Quality of Financial, Technical Cooperation with AfDB

Rabat – Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, praised, on Tuesday in Rabat, the quality of financial and technical cooperation relations between Morocco and the African Development Bank (ADB).

The minister received a delegation of nine AfDB Executive Directors on a consultation mission in Morocco (Sept. 26-30). On this occasion, Fettah thanked the delegation for the support provided by the Bank to the Kingdom to implement several structural reforms undertaken under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly in the areas of public administration, governance, health, education, the financial sector, and economic competitiveness, said a statement from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The minister also praised the support provided by the AfDB for the implementation of several infrastructure projects that have significantly contributed to better inclusion of the population, especially the youth and women.

For their part, the Bank’s Executive Directors praised the relevance of the reforms undertaken by the Kingdom, which have made Morocco a model for other African countries to follow.

They also stressed AfDB’s readiness to continue and to strengthen its support for the Kingdom’s economic and social development efforts.

This consultation mission, which is part of the annual visits of AfDB Board members to the Bank’s regional member countries, aims to assess the quality of this institution’s support to our country and to have a perspective on the major priorities of the Moroccan government.
