Held in partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), this event is a day of exchange on the inclusion of foreigners in the royal project of social protection generalization.
Speaking on this occasion, CNDH president, Amina Bouayach, recalled the position of the Council in favor of the inclusion of foreigners in the four components of the social protection system provided by the framework law adopted last year by parliament.
These components include protection against the risks of disease, the risks of old age, the risks of loss of employment, as well as protection against risks related to childhood and the granting of lump-sum compensation to families who do not have access to this protection, she explained.
Aware of the particular vulnerability of some categories of population, the CNDH pays particular attention to foreigners and their access to health, which is one of the main areas of partnership between the CNDH and the UNHCR, the official observed.
For his part, the UNHCR Representative in Morocco, François Reybet-Degat stressed that the Royal Vision is in harmony with international law to ensure the right to health and the generalization of social protection for different migrants.
In similar remarks, the Chief of mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Morocco, Laura Palatini stressed that social protection is the foundation of a society of solidarity and a pillar of economic and social development.
“The reform of the social protection system in Morocco, launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is a fundamental step towards achieving an optimized and universal system that benefits the biggest number of people.
For Palatini, the inclusion of migrant populations in the reform of the social protection system is fully in line with the National Immigration and Asylum Policy launched under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in 2013.
