The agreement covers the exchange of technical information and cooperation to regulate the safe use of nuclear applications between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Slovak Republic.
The MoU was signed by the Acting Director of the AMSSNuR, Mounji Zniber, and the President of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic, Marta Žiaková, according to a statement from the Moroccan Agency.
The exchange of information under the agreement concerns technical information related to the regulation of nuclear safety, security, radioactive waste management and environmental impact of nuclear energy facilities, as well as documents related to the licensing and regulatory processes of facilities licensed and regulated by AMSSNuR or the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic.
Under the agreement, the two parties will exchange information on nuclear safety and security training programs, information in the field of reactor safety research, regulatory procedures and policies on nuclear safety and security, radioactive waste management and environmental impact assessment of nuclear facilities.
The two authorities intend to exchange experiences in their fields of activity.
The signing of this memorandum of understanding is part of the efforts made by the AMSSNuR to promote international cooperation, through the exchange of technical information and sharing of experiences and best practices, through scientific visits, expert missions and cooperation projects.
