Sixth FAAPA General Assembly Kicks Off in Rabat

Rabat – The sixth General Assembly (GA) of the Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA) opened Thursday in Rabat, with the participation of several heads of African agencies and experts and specialists in media and communication.

This two-day GA will see the presentation of FAAPA activity Report, the 2022-2023 action Plan and the Report on the 8th Executive Board Meeting held in Dakar (Senegal).

This event will also discuss the Report and statistics on the website of the Federation, in addition to proposals on the review seminars of the financial Report, the Regulation of FAAPA Grand Prix, the Amendment of the Statutes of the Federation, as well as the election of members of its Executive Board.

In addition, the General Assembly will be marked by the presentation of FAAPA 2020-2021 Grand Prix for the best article, best video report and best photo, as well as the signing of several partnership and cooperation agreements.

The program of this meeting also includes the organization of a seminar under the theme “Post-Covid: Challenges and opportunities for African news agencies”.

Created in 2014 on the sidelines of the 1st Atlantic and West African News Agencies Forum in Casablanca, FAAPA is an essential milestone for the modernization of information and a professional platform that allows Africans to share their experiences and know-how in the field of news agencies.
