The discussions between the two officials focused on the deep and historical ties that bind the two brotherly countries and on bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of defense and exchange of experience and the setting up of joint projects of defense industry, said a statement by the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
On the same day, and on the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, received Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, at the headquarters of FAR General Staff, in the presence of the concerned General Officers of FAR General Staff.
During this meeting, FAR Inspector General and Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces discussed various topics related to the cooperation of FAR and the UAE Armed Forces, including the operational component. The two officials also welcomed the level of this cooperation, while reiterating their willingness to further strengthen it in accordance with the supreme will of the leaders of the two brotherly countries, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco.
In this sense, the two officials agreed on the strengthening of bilateral military training or in a multilateral framework, through their participation in large-scale exercises, such as “African Lion”.
The cooperation between FAR and the Emirati Armed Forces dates back to 1980, when the first military agreement was signed. It was strengthened by the framework agreement signed in May 2006, concluded the statement.
