In an address delivered on behalf of the Ulema of the Foundation, during the opening session of the 4th annual ordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, Al Husseini stressed that this “African scientific body honors the Ulema of various affiliations, doctrines of fiqh (jurisprudence) and Sunni Sufi ways”.
In this sense, he said he was “proud and honored to be part of the Mohammed Foundation VI of the African Ulema, to attend its Ulema Councils and participate in its seminars and workshops”.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Ulema, Mohammed Yessef, stressed that the presence of Ulema from different African countries at this meeting reflects the determination of Africa to assert itself, thanks to the Ulema and the great thinkers and philosophers of the continent who “have not yet revealed all their knowledge and erudition”.
Africa “is now expressing the substance of its thinking after a long period of silence,” he added, noting that “the gathering of this group of Ulema in Fez is likely to lead to results that can illuminate the path of Africa towards emergence and emancipation”.
