2023 Finance Bill Allocates Additional MAD 6.5Mln to National Education

Rabat – The budget allocated to the Department of National Education will increase by MAD 6.5 billion in 2023 compared to 2022, to reach an estimated budget of MAD 68.95 billion, according to the presentation note of the 2023 Finance Bill.

This budget will go towards financing the 2023 action plan, which focuses on speeding up the process of implementing the preschool generalization program by setting up a delegated management model with leading associations.

This process also includes the establishment of a quality assurance system including the training of educators and the construction and equipment of preschool rooms with the aim of the generalization of preschool by 2028, says the note.

As such, a budget of nearly MAD 2.1 billion, including MAD 135 million as commitment credits, will be mobilized for this purpose in 2023, including MAD 1.41 billion for pre-school classes.

The same plan also focuses on extending the coverage of social support to cover needs by adopting an integrated approach to managing the various components related to school transport, canteens, boarding schools, community schools.

It also concerns improving the quality of social support services through the establishment of a unified management framework favoring outsourcing, based on quality standards. In this context, a budget of about MAD 1.76 billion is mobilized for this purpose for the year 2023.
