2023 Draft Appropriation Bill Focuses on Generalization of Social Protection

Rabat – The generalization of social protection is at the center of the development of the 2023 draft appropriation bill (PLF-2023), said Tuesday in Rabat, Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah.

Aware of the importance of the overhaul of the health system to accompany the Royal large-scale project of the generalization of social protection, the government has included in the 2023 PLF an increase in the budget of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, said the Minister at a press briefing on the presentation of this PLF.

In this sense, she said that this budget would be 28.12 billion dirhams, an improvement of 19.5% compared to 2022, noting that these resources will be dedicated to the upgrading of health infrastructure.

Similarly, Fettah said that 5,500 budgetary positions will be granted under the 2023 PLF, thus, bringing the total number of creations over the period 2017-2023 to 36,117 budgetary positions.

The Minister also emphasized the need to overhaul the health system and the rehabilitation of health facilities at the national level, to ensure social and territorial equity to Moroccans.
