Italy: Morocco Takes Part in “Ecomondo”, “Key Energy” Green Economy Fairs

Rimini (Italy) – The 2022 edition of the international green economy fairs “Ecomondo” and “Key Energy” kicked off, Tuesday in the Italian city of Rimini (north), with the participation of professionals and policy makers from Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa, including Morocco.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the president of the Italian exhibition group, organizer of the two events, Lorenzo Cagnoni, said that “these events, which celebrate their 25th anniversary, are in the forefront of the energy transition, necessary to ensure a world capable of producing sustainable wealth.”

Cagnoni stressed “the importance of international cooperation to address the climate emergency,” noting that the 2nd edition of the forum dedicated to green growth in Africa “Africa Green Growth”, held within the framework of these two exhibitions, will see a strong participation of the countries of the continent, including Morocco.

Organized in collaboration with the RES4Africa Foundation, with the support of the ITA-Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Ecological Transition, this event will focus on the opportunities offered by green hydrogen, the nexus “water-energy-food” and youth entrepreneurship in Africa.

Many Moroccan associations and research institutes, including the Institute for Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), are present at the exhibition center to highlight their projects and initiatives, share their know-how and prospect new opportunities.

Innovators, international and national authorities, the world of science and academia, decision-makers and investors from all over the world take part in these reference fairs for sustainable development.
