A study day organized by the National Commission for the Supervision of the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP), the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Institution of the Ombudsman of the Kingdom, president of the Administrative Court of Casablanca, Abdelmajid Chafiq, addressed aspects of governance in the application of the law relating to the protection of natural persons, in particular that which relates to personal data.
Placed under the theme “Institutional coordination: towards a common understanding of the enshrining of good governance and protection of personal data”, this session was marked by a presentation made by president of the unit of press and publication affairs under the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Hassan Farhane, who highlighted the role of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in protecting personal data.
In the same vein, secretary general of the Institution of the Ombudsman of the Kingdom, Mohammed Lididi, emphasized the legal mechanisms available to the Institution to enshrine good governance.
For her part, head of the Data Trust within the CNDP, Firdouas Methqal, reviewed the national and international benchmark for the protection of personal data.
This study day, which was attended by a representative of the Ministry of Justice, experts and judges, representatives of various constitutional bodies and institutions and civil society actors, aims to promote good governance and protect personal data through a common vision.
