ONHYM Chief Highlights Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Advantages

Rabat – The advantages of the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline were highlighted on Friday by National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) Director General Amina Benkhadra, within the framework of a “Diplomatic Crossroads” which brought together some forty ambassadors accredited in Morocco.

During this meeting, organized at the initiative of the Diplomatic Foundation, Benkhadra stressed that the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline is a “structuring” project of development and economic and social integration for the African continent.

This project, born from the vision of HM King Mohammed VI and Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, is of utmost importance, as it allows access to energy for all countries in the sub-region and guarantees an “extremely necessary” integration for the continent.

During his speech on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Green March, the Sovereign showed the strategic importance of this project by inviting all stakeholders to collaborate, he recalled.

He said that this project aims to create a competitive regional electricity market, exploit clean energies and contribute to the industrial and economic development of all the countries crossed by this line, through the development of numerous sectors such as agriculture, industry and mining.
