“Morocco has often hosted major competitions and has sometimes been the only country to host a new competition. I am very grateful to Morocco for that,” Motsepe said in a statement to the press upon his arrival at Salé airport.
The head of African soccer’s highest body noted that he always feels gratitude when he sees the support provided by Morocco to many African countries and their contribution to the development of soccer on the continent.
On the other hand, Motsepe praised the level reached by women’s soccer in Africa, which, according to him, is progressing every year, and recalled that the last time he was in Morocco, a new attendance record was registered for a women’s match, on the occasion of the Morocco-Nigeria match in the framework of the 2022 Women’s CAN.
The CAF president will attend the final of the Women’s African Champions League between AS FAR and South African Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
