Morocco Qualify for 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations

Algiers – Morocco’s football team of the under 17 years old (U17) has secured its ticket for the final phase of the African Cup of Nations of the category, by beating on Monday Egypt 2-1 at Rouiba stadium for the third and last day of the North African Football Union tournament, played in Algiers.

The “Lions of Atlas” finished first in this qualifying tournament for the Algeria 2023 CAN with 9 points, thanks to their three victories over Tunisia (2-0), Libya (1-0) and Egypt (2-1).

Only one qualifying place was available before this tournament since Algeria is already qualified automatically in this Zone as host country.

Four selections of the UNAF zone, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, were competing in this tournament which takes place in the form of mini-championship with the objective of obtaining the single qualifying ticket for the final phase.
